Licensing issues further delay Spotify’s long awaited HiFi tier

<p>Spotify CEO Daniel Ek intimated during the streaming service's quarterly and yearly results call that the HiFi membership tier's delay is due to licensing concerns. The company initially planned to roll out this premium membership sometime in 2021 while the rumors of this update started appearing in 2017. The update will bring CD-quality lossless music to the largest streaming service. This is a big turnoff as Apple and Amazon have already implemented this feature.</p>
