Meta and Qualcomm strike deal on custom virtual reality chips

<p>Meta signed a contract with Qualcomm Inc in order to create unique chipsets for its Quest VR devices. The chips, which are powered by Qualcomm&#39;s Snapdragon platforms, will be produced by a joint effort of the engineering and product teams of the two firms. The arrangement demonstrates Meta&#39;s dependence on Qualcomm&#39;s technology, despite the company&#39;s efforts to create its own bespoke silicon for its augmented, mixed, and virtual reality products.</p>
