Microsoft to acquire speech to text software firm Nuance Communications for $19.7 bn

<p>Microsoft will acquire speech to text software firm Nuance Communications for $19.7 bn to increase its presence in healthcare. Nuance has 10,000 healthcare customers which include AthenaHealth, Johns Hopkins, Mass General Brigham and Cleveland Clinic etc. CEO Mark Benjamin will continue to lead the firm and report to Scott Guthrie, Microsoft’s EVP in charge of the cloud and AI group.
