Netflix Gains 2.41 Million New Subscribers Above Predictions

<p>Netflix&#39;s fortunes are improving this quarter. The streamer increased its subscriber base by 2.41 million, increasing the total to 223.09 million. Netflix anticipated a net increase of 1 million subscribers in the third quarter, but today&#39;s numbers greatly exceeded both its own and analysts&#39; forecasts. Netflix said last week that the Basic with Ads plan will cost $6.99 per month and feature four to five minutes of TV show and movie commercials every hour.&nbsp;</p>
