SEC Rules Elon Musk Still Requires a Lawyer's Approval for His Tweets
<p>The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has stated that Tesla CEO Elon Musk must continue to have a lawyer review his tweets. The SEC said that Musk's agreement to have his tweets reviewed by a lawyer was part of a settlement in a lawsuit filed in 2018, which accused him of fraudulently misleading investors with tweets about taking Tesla private. The SEC had claimed that Musk had not sought approval before publishing tweets that had the potential to move Tesla's stock.</p>
