Shared Network Costs is Ten Year Old Idea That May Harm Customers: Google

<p>A proposal by European telecom operators to persuade Big Tech to help pay for network costs was rejected by Alphabet, which said that the idea was outdated and harmful to customers. Google also noted that the business was already investing millions in internet infrastructure. Big tele operators like Orange, Telefonica&nbsp;also complained of freeriding their internet traffic without any financial contribution.</p>
