Stanford Grad Launches Secured Credit Card to Compete with Pawn Shops

James Savoldelli, a Stanford graduate, has launched a new credit card startup called Pesto. The card is designed to help people who are unable to get a traditional credit card, such as those with bad credit or no credit history. Pesto offers a secured credit card, which means that borrowers must put down a deposit to open the account. The amount of the deposit will determine the credit limit. Pesto is currently in beta testing and is only available to a limited number of people.
