Subscription apps on rise as consumer spending increased by 41% in 2021

<p>Consumers, mainly smartphone users, are spending more money on apps and subscriptions services. According to Sensor Tower's latest intelligence report, the top 100 non-gaming, subscription-based apps produced $18.3 billion in 2021, up 41% from $13 billion in 2020. More interestingly, 75% of this figure was contributed by App store users while Play Store only made up $4.8B. Sensor Tower believes this growth will continue as apps experiment with different models.</p>
