Taiwan to Assess Impact of Potential U.S. Tariffs on Semiconductor Industry

Taiwan's Economy Minister, Kuo Jyh-huei, announced plans to simulate the effects of potential U.S. tariffs on its semiconductor sector and engage in discussions with Washington to ensure fair competition. This comes as the U.S. investigates imposing tariffs on imported semiconductors and pharmaceuticals, citing national security concerns. Taiwan, home to major chipmaker TSMC, is a key supplier to U.S. tech firms like Apple and Nvidia.
