US regulator says it needs $3B more to remove Huawei, ZTE from networks

<p>The removal of Huawei and ZTE-made equipment from American networks will cost an extra $3B, raising the total to $4.9B, the U.S. telecoms regulator informed Congress. Companies would only be compensated for around 40% of the costs because Congress only budgeted $1.9B to pay for the removal procedure. USA corporations were forced to withdraw their equipment after the FCC classified Huawei and ZTE as risks in order to avoid losing $8.3B in government funds.</p>
