U.S. Senate approves $52B chips bill in bid to reach compromise

<p>In a move to achieve a compromise after months of debate, the US Senate adopted a bill that would offer $52B in US subsidies for semiconductor chip manufacture. In June, the Senate passed semiconductor bill that included $190B in funding to boost American technology and research in order to compete with China, while the House passed its version in early February. The bills take diverse approach for dealing with the United States&#39; competitiveness in relation to China.</p>
