Verizon promotes Sowmyanarayan Sampath as CEO

<p>Verizon, the New York-based wireless carrier issued a statement stating that Sowmyanarayan Sampath will be promoted to the position of CEO as well as EVP with effect from the 1st of July. He will take charge of Tami Erwin who has decided to don the role of strategic advisor to the CEO until the end of 2022. Sampath has a diverse career with Verizon and he plans to bring major innovation to the company.<br /> &nbsp;</p>
