Cloudflare claims to stop largest-ever DDoS attack

<p>The largest DDoS attack ever reported was stopped by Cloudflare in July, the company said in a blog post. Launched by botnet Mirai, the attack was 17.2mn requests per second, three times larger than any previously reported. Targeting a finance company, originating from 20,000 bots worldwide, the attack hit Cloudflare Edge with 300,000 requests in seconds. This, despite the Mirai botnet reducing to 28,000 bots after starting from 30,000.</p> <p> </p>
