IT ministry plans to promote 10,000 startups over next five to six years

<p>The government intends to support more than 10,000 businesses over the course of the next five to six years under the GENESIS initiative. The government unveiled the Digital India GENESIS in July (Gen-Next Support for Innovative Startups). The initiative has a Rs 750 crore outlay.&nbsp;India currently boasts more than 73,000 startups, of which more than 100 are unicorns or startups valued at USD 1B.</p>
