India Ranks Third Globally in Chip Design Research Publications

Between 2018 and 2023, India published 39,709 research papers on chip design and fabrication, accounting for 8.4% of the global total of 472,819 papers. This positions India third worldwide, following China and the United States, and ahead of Japan, South Korea, and Germany. China leads with 160,852 papers, representing 34% of global publications. India's contribution grew by 26% during this period, reflecting the country's increasing focus on the semiconductor industry.
