First Games Challenges ₹5,712 Crore GST Demand Amid Industry-Wide Dispute

Paytm's subsidiary, First Games Technology, is set to file a writ petition in the Supreme Court contesting a ₹5,712 crore GST demand issued by the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI). The dispute centers on the application of a 28% GST on total entry amounts versus the 18% previously levied on platform fees. This move aligns with actions taken by other online gaming firms challenging similar notices, as the Supreme Court has stayed proceedings on over ₹1 lakh crore in GST demands.
