Intel Postpones $28 Billion Ohio Chip Factories to 2030 Amid Market Adjustments

Intel has announced a significant delay in its $28 billion semiconductor project in New Albany, Ohio. The first of two chip fabrication plants, initially slated to commence operations in 2025, is now expected to be completed by 2030, with operations beginning between 2030 and 2031. The second plant's completion is projected for 2031, with operations starting in 2032. This postponement allows Intel to align production with market demand and manage capital responsibly.
