EU rules must focus on AI benefits not limitations: lawmaker

<p>Svenja Hahn, a member of the European Parliament, said that Europe&#39;s attempt to adopt new laws for AI should take a positive approach to reap the benefits of the technology rather than restricting it. Last year, the EU Commission suggested AI rules in an attempt to gain a competitive edge in a technology controlled by China and the United States. Before the guidelines can be implemented, it will need to work out the details with EU countries and legislators.</p>
