Meta building AI that processes speech, text as humans do

<p>Meta has announced a long-term AI research programme to better understand how the human brain interprets speech and text, and to create AI systems that learn in the same way that people do. It is evaluating how AI models and the brain respond to the identical spoken or written words in partnership with neuroimaging centre Neurospin and Inria. Meta used deep learning algorithms to analyse how the brain process words and sentences using public neuroimaging data sets.</p>
