3D-printing helps Indian scientists repair aero-engine components

<p>Indigenously preparing the materials needed, Indian scientists were able to repair aero-engine components for the first time. The 3D printing technique, &quot;Directed Energy Deposition&quot; will significantly reduce repair time and cost. It will repair Ni-based superalloy components, which are used in aero-engines.
