Amazon Is Shutting Down Charity Donation Program AmazonSmile

<p>The company announced the change just a few days after announcing 18,000 job cuts. Amazon is trying to find money wherever it can as the company announced that it would end AmazonSmile. Amazon has also donated $400 million to nonprofits through the program since 2013. Ending the program will allow the company to lay off some people who were working on it. AmazonSmile is a donation program that redirects 0.5% of the cost of all eligible products toward charities</p>
