Apple will turn iPhones into payment terminals

<p>Apple Inc. is releasing a new feature that will allow companies to collect credit card and digital payments with just a tap on their iPhones, skipping hardware devices like Block Inc&#39;s Square terminals. Near-field communications (NFC) technology will be used to make all types of payments, including payments between iPhones. Stripe and Shopify Point, two fintech companies, will be the first in the US to offer the &quot;Tap to Pay&quot; option to business clients in the spring of 2022.</p>
