BIF Responds to Telecom Industry Demands on OTT Network Infrastructure Usage

<p>The BIF&#39;s statement came in response to the Cellular Operators Association of India&#39;s (COAI) November 25 letter to the DoT, which sought a legal framework to control OTT providers&#39; contributions to network infrastructure building. According to COAI, OTTs can pay telecom operators directly on mutually agreed-upon terms. However, BIF believes that if telcos want OTTs to pay for network infrastructure, telcos should pay OTTs for using their infrastructure as well.</p>
