EU agrees on internet rulebook for Google, Facebook, other tech giants
<p>European Union governments and legislators reached an agreement on new rules requiring digital firms to do more to monitor unlawful content on their platforms. They will also be required to pay a fee to the regulators to monitor their compliance. After more than 16 hours of negotiations, an agreement was reached. The Digital Services Act (DSA) is the second pillar of EU competition chief Margrethe Vestager's plan to reign in Google, Meta, and other US internet giants.</p>
