For Purpose of Generating Future 5G Revenue, Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel Requested Clarification

<p>Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and telecom regulator believe that network slicing, a crucial component of 5G technology, will not violate the principles of net neutrality. They also said that proper modifications will be made to the licencing rules to permit slicing. Clarity on this was sought after by leading telcos Jio and Airtel since it is crucial for providing private captive network services to firms and for generating future 5G revenue.</p>
