Free Cross-Border Data Flow Among Trusted Nations Suggested
<p>In recent draft of Digital Personal Data Protection Bill, 2022, which was released for public comment, the Centre advocated open cross-border flow of data belonging to Indian customers inside "trusted" jurisdictions. The Bill, which has only 30 sections as opposed to 99 clauses in previous versions, also requires users to be informed of the purpose of data collection and the firms with whom it is shared in "plain language" as well as regional languages.</p>
