Google and Microsoft have Announced Agreements to Use Renewable Energy in Data Centres

<p>Google and Microsoft have recently announced new agreements to reduce the carbon footprint of their operations by using renewable energy sources in their data centres. Google has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Engie, a French utility business, to power its UK facilities with 100 MW of energy supplied by the Moray West offshore wind farm in Scotland. Meanwhile, Microsoft announced PPAs in Ireland for more than 900 MW of renewable energy for its data centres.</p>
