Indian internet curbs among highest in the world

<p>According to a recent report, India has some of the highest internet curbs in the world, ranking seventh globally. The report analyzed internet freedom in 65 countries and found that India imposed restrictions on online content, connectivity, and platforms in 2021. The report highlighted that these curbs were used to curb hate speech, disinformation, and online harassment but were also used to silence dissent and violate privacy rights.</p>
