Intel's new Alder lake faster but more power-hungry

<p>Intel&#39;s 12th gen &#39;Alder lake&#39; CPUs are the company&#39;s latest offering for the computer market. Although Alder lake is a desktop-class CPU, it still made an interesting comparison to Apple&#39;s M1 pro and M1 max chips. Core i9-12900K is 1.5x faster than Apple&#39;s M1 pro and M1 max in multicore performance. Along with it being faster than Apple&#39;s CPUs, it is also much more power-hungry, it used 125W and 241W of power when tested at base and turbo frequencies respectively.</p>
