Intel's new Alder lake faster but more power-hungry

<p>Intel's 12th gen 'Alder lake' CPUs are the company's latest offering for the computer market. Although Alder lake is a desktop-class CPU, it still made an interesting comparison to Apple's M1 pro and M1 max chips. Core i9-12900K is 1.5x faster than Apple's M1 pro and M1 max in multicore performance. Along with it being faster than Apple's CPUs, it is also much more power-hungry, it used 125W and 241W of power when tested at base and turbo frequencies respectively.</p>
