Microsoft Aims to Increase Internet Access in Africa, Promote Long-Term Cloud Use

<p>Microsoft Corp. wants to provide internet connectivity to 100 million additional people in Africa by 2025. They collaborated with Viasat and created the conditions for longer-term cloud adoption. Through its Airband programme, it has since 2017 assisted in enhancing connectivity for 50 million individuals. Microsoft is now utilizing satellite technology for the initiative for the first time in an effort to reach remote places with limited internet.</p>
