Microsoft's underwater data centre is a success

<p>In 2018, Microsoft had submerged a prototype data centre into the sea to check the feasibility of underwater data centres. After 2 years, the firm has pulled out the prototype from 117-feet deep inside the sea and announced ‘Project Natick’ a success. Underwater data centres can provide faster and low-latency data access to coastal countries as data will have to travel less distance. It can run on renewable energy sources; can be saved from corrosion etc.</p>
