Mozilla study finds Youtube ‘not interested’ and ‘dislike’ buttons are marginally effective

<p>In a study with data from 500 million YouTube videos, Mozilla found that the ‘not interested’ and ‘dislike buttons’ barely work. Moreover, at best, more than half of the viewers continue to see content related to the videos they did not want to see. YouTube spokesperson Elena Hernandez defended the video-sharing website saying that Mozilla didn’t consider “how its systems work” and that YouTube does so to avoid “negative effects for viewers, like creating echo chambers.”</p>
