Music CD sales see growth for the first time in more than a decade

<p>Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) reported that CD sales in the US grew from 31.6M in 2020 to 46.6M in 2021. As a result, revenue also increased from $483.2M to $584.2M which makes it the first year after 2004 since this format saw growth. The growth in CD sales was attributed to delayed Vinyl shipments. Online music platforms still contributed over 50% of the global music revenue in form of subscriptions which generated $8.6B.</p>
