Russian retaliation would practically deprive entire world of microelectronics: Reports

<p>The restriction on technology exports to Russia, in reaction to the crisis in Ukraine, may backfire on global computer processor and semiconductor makers. This is because many critical components for their production are made exclusively in Russia. A number of technology companies, including AMD and Intel in the US, have paused product exports to Russia, while TSMC stopped the production of Russian Baikal and Elbrus microprocessors at its Taiwanese plant.</p>
