Telecom Department Suggests Auction Models for Satcom Spectrum Sale

<p>The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is pushing for an auction of satellite communication spectrum and has proposed various models to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) for selling such airwaves to the highest bidder. Companies such as Bharti-backed OneWeb, Reliance Jio&#39;s joint venture with Luxembourg-based SES, and Elon Musk&#39;s Starlink are developing a satellite constellation to provide &#39;broadband-from-space&#39; services in India.</p>
