Tesla Announces It’s Moving Away From Ultrasonic Sensors In Favor Of ‘Tesla Vision’

<p>The next phase in Tesla's ambition to exclusively utilize cameras and software to enable its advanced driver assistance system and other safety measures is the removal of ultrasonic sensors from Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. The 12 ultrasonic sensors that are located on the front and rear bumpers of Tesla's vehicles will no longer be included. The company said it is also launching a “vision-based occupancy network” that is used in Full Self-Driving (FSD) Beta software.</p>
