Tesla Announces It’s Moving Away From Ultrasonic Sensors In Favor Of ‘Tesla Vision’

<p>The next phase in Tesla&#39;s ambition to exclusively utilize cameras and software to enable its advanced driver assistance system and other safety measures is the removal of ultrasonic sensors from Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. The 12 ultrasonic sensors that are located on the front and rear bumpers of Tesla&#39;s vehicles will no longer be included. The company said it is also launching a &ldquo;vision-based occupancy network&rdquo; that is used in Full Self-Driving (FSD) Beta software.</p>
