WhatsApp wants to offer cashback on peer-to-peer transfers, merchant payments in India

<p>WhatsApp will offer cashback prizes in the coming weeks to entice more Indians to use its peer-to-peer payments service. The company is trying similar incentives for merchant payments in order to compete with rivals such as Google. The latest step comes just days after WhatsApp received regulatory approval to expand its payments service to over 100M users in India, the company&#39;s biggest market with more than half a billion users overall.</p>
