‘PM Modi won’t compromise on India’s data sovereignty’

<p style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">PM Modi will not compromise on India’s data sovereignty, IT and Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said at ET Startup Awards 2019. Minister made these remarks because of American tech giants Facebook, Google, and Amazon lobbying aggressively against the proposed data localisation. He further added the government is consulting on the data protection bill with all the stakeholders.</span></span></span></p>
