Meta cuts hiring plans, braces for 'fierce' headwinds

<p>CEO Mark Zuckerberg informed staff that Meta Platforms, the company that owns Facebook, had reduced plans to hire engineers by at least 30% this year and advised them to prepare for a severe economic slump. While specific numbers have not yet been disclosed, Meta last month confirmed recruiting pauses in general. From an original aim to hire 10,000 engineers, Meta has decreased its target for hiring engineers in 2022 to between 6000 and 7000.</p>
