Uber Drivers in New Zealand Win in Court and are Now Considered Employees

<p>A group of Uber drivers in New Zealand won a significant legal battle with the ride-hailing giant, forcing Uber to consider the drivers as employees as opposed to independent contractors. The verdict from New Zealand's employment court may have wider ramifications for drivers around the nation eager to be eligible for worker rights and benefits, even if it only pertains to four drivers who were a part of a class action complaint filed in July.</p>
